Monthly trend
Average attendance for each month, November 2022 through November 2026. The line breaks across the gap with no data from December 2023 through March 2024. Hover or tap a dot for that month’s average.
Year-by-year averages
Average total attendance per service, with the average written on top of each bar. Partial years are labeled; there is no data for January to March 2024.
Peak Sunday each year
The largest single service in each year of the record.
Attendance by season of the year
Average attendance for each calendar month, combining all years in the record. April, with Easter, runs highest; January runs lowest.
Month by month: 2025 vs 2026
Average attendance per service for each month, January through October. November 2026 has two services so far (163 on Nov 1 and 135 on Nov 8, averaging 149), so it is left out of the comparison.
What stands out
Weather impact in 2026
Weather on each 2026 service day, from the Mount Sterling–Montgomery County Airport (IOB) station in 40353. Every 2026 date in the table below carries its own weather line too. The Jan 5, 2025 ice storm is listed with the 2026 highlights, since it is the other ice storm in the record.
How the days rated
Each 2026 day is rated None, Minor, or Notable. Snow over a tenth of an inch, rain over half an inch, a high below 25°F, or ice over a tenth of an inch rates Notable; rain over a tenth of an inch, or freezing fog or drizzle, rates Minor; anything less is None. In 2026 two days rated Notable and five rated Minor. The rest were None.
Snow and ice
No snow was reported at either station on any 2026 service date. Ice is a different story. The record holds two ice storms on service Sundays: Jan 5, 2025 (0.16 in of ice) and Jan 25, 2026 (0.30 in, no service). On Sunday, January 25, freezing rain fell through the whole morning, 5:10 AM to noon, and 0.30 inches of ice built up at Lexington. The National Weather Service storm report lists the same 0.30 inches for Fayette County, and its Louisville office called it a major winter storm, with 0.20 to 0.80 inches of ice across central and eastern Kentucky and power outages peaking near 75,000 that Sunday afternoon. January 25 is the one Sunday in 2026 with no attendance count at all. The other winter Sundays were dry and cold; Jan 11 had freezing fog with light snow during service hours at Lexington (26°F, no ice measured on the sensor) and still drew 180. Before 2026, six Sundays had snow: Dec 1, 2024 (0.5 in), Jan 5, 2025 (3.6 in, with 0.16 in of ice, the smallest Sunday of 2025 at 76), Jan 19, 2025 (1.0 in, with freezing fog), Feb 16, 2025 (1.5 in amid 1.04 in of rain), Nov 9, 2025 (0.1 in), and Dec 14, 2025 (0.4 in).
Ice source: the Mount Sterling airport (IOB) has no icing sensor, and its present-weather sensor was not reporting that winter, so ice figures come from Lexington (KLEX), the nearest station with an icing sensor, about 30 miles west. Mount Sterling’s own readings confirm the Jan 25 storm reached town too: 18 hours of precipitation while at or below freezing. Every date in the table below carries its ice line; in 2026 only Jan 11 shows any ice or freezing precipitation on a service day, and before 2026 only Jan 5, 2025 (0.16 in) and Jan 19, 2025 (0.05 in) did.
Where the weather comes from
Temperatures: Mount Sterling–Montgomery County Airport (IOB), in 40353 (via Iowa Environmental Mesonet). Exceptions: Dec 24-25, 2022 and Oct 11, 2026, when IOB was not reporting and Lexington was used. Rain: IOB where it reports it (158 of 193 dates), otherwise Lexington (KLEX), marked per day in the table. Aug 16, 2026 was 0.20 in here; the 1.19 in figure sometimes seen for that day was Lexington’s. Lowest Sunday Oct 18, 2026 (78) was dry, 32 to 64.4°F, so weather does not explain it. Across the whole record, the coldest service high was 17.1°F (Christmas Eve 2022), the hottest 95.0°F (Jul 14, 2024), and the wettest 1.26 in (Jun 8, 2025).
Flu & illness in 2026
The illness picture around each 2026 service, in season phases. Also listed beside every 2026 date in the table below.
Illness source: KDPH Respiratory Disease Dashboard (updated Thursdays), filtered to Montgomery County for ER visits, hospital stays, and lab tests in 40353, plus CDC FluView for Kentucky statewide. No weekly county case-count table is published, so dates use season phases, not invented counts. Context: week ending Oct 31, 2026, clinical lab flu positivity was 9.1% nationally and 2.8% of outpatient visits were for respiratory illness, with 8,396 flu hospital admissions that week; H1N1 was dominant.
Going forward
Each new Sunday will add IOB weather and the KDPH Montgomery County illness picture (with CDC FluView statewide) when a new sheet comes in.

About these numbers
Source. The church’s attendance spreadsheet (FBC_Attendance_Fixed.xlsx), covering November 6, 2022 through November 8, 2026. Every figure on this page is computed from those 193 rows.
What counts as a service. 190 of the 193 are Sunday mornings. The other three are Christmas Eve 2022 (142), Christmas Eve 2025 (200), and Good Friday, April 3, 2026 (111). They are included in the averages and flagged in the table.
The gap. There is no data from December 2023 through March 2024: the record stops after November 19, 2023 and resumes April 7, 2024. The trend line leaves that stretch empty rather than filling it in. One Sunday, January 25, 2026, is also missing. Partial years are labeled wherever an average is shown.
Weather source. IOB in 40353 (via Iowa Environmental Mesonet) for every service date, Nov 2022 onward. Temps from Lexington only on Dec 24-25, 2022 and Oct 11, 2026. Rain from IOB where reported (158 of 193), otherwise KLEX, marked per day. Snow from the Open-Meteo daily archive for days the station reported snow. Flu is 2026 only.
Flu source (2026 only). Season phases for 40353 from the KDPH Respiratory Dashboard filtered to Montgomery County, plus CDC FluView for Kentucky. No weekly county case-count table is published, so no county case numbers are shown.
How the counts break down. Total is the number recorded in the sheet. The second column is headed “Outside Sanctuary” in the sheet. In 2022 and 2023 it counted the nursery only, and Children’s Church was counted separately; Children’s Church is included in the total but not broken out in the middle column here, so Sanctuary plus Outside Sanctuary will not always add up to the total in those years. From 2024 on, the second column counts everyone outside the sanctuary, adults and nursery children. A dash means that area was not counted separately that week.
